Josiah Pertz works in the firm’s key practice areas: complex civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, and securities enforcement. From 2014 to 2015, Mr. Pertz clerked for the Honorable William H. Walls of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Notable matters include:

  • representation of a national proxy solicitation firm employee accused of wire fraud and honest services fraud in a federal criminal jury trial in the District of Massachusetts and a related appeal in the First Circuit;
  • representation of a senior executive of a major international bank in a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York (with parallel proceedings in the United Kingdom and France);
  • representation of an art advisor in a money laundering and public corruption investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California;
  • representation of a regional hospital network in connection with a federal grand jury subpoena;
  • representation of an interest rate swaps broker in fraud investigations by the SEC, the CFTC, and the New York Attorney General’s Office; and
  • representation of the general counsel of a consumer protection services provider in a commercial arbitration before the American Arbitration Association.
